Endless
I dreamt last night
I was waiting. Forever.
I waited so long
I no longer knew what I waited for.
I couldn't stop.
It was a really long dream.

Tankaless Nightmare
Mountains on fire -
squeeze liquids into smoke. Air
suffocates. Falling
mountains stampede tectonic
triggers. Death survives.

Re: Nightmare POem
Spiders
Shut off the faucet and they come,
racing down the shower tiles
the black stripes like oil oozing, dripping
down and filling the tub, tiny legs
clickety clacking along the ceramic.
The basin is full, a dark mass of legs and bodies,
each trying to reach the top of the pile,
spilling over in their quest.
Nowhere to run.
The rain stops and they come in droves,
up from the cracks in the pavement
black spilling out onto black
the street undulates, seems to writhe.
Sideways, forwards, backwards, they
keep coming, clickety clack.
Nowhere to run.
I remember the water and dive,
further and further, down.
The ocean swallows me,
hair billowing up in the murky depths--
I see them on the shore. Waiting.
Watching. Patient.
Nowhere to run.

Re: Nightmare POem
Thanks - I think. I use the thread literally and come and throw nightmares in poetry form, or hopefully what passes for it.
Made a slight edit to the last line on the one above. Changed impatient to patient. I think that's a bit more unsettling and accurate. Heh.
