Interesting what writing junkies we are that we clicked into here and read this.
At breakfast, I find myself writing on cereal boxes.
Sometimes, I squat by myself in the back alley and write on brown paper bags.
There is evidence of my addiction everywhere: scraps of paper with random scribbling litter my tabletops, shelves. My computer is full of unfinished ravings. My dreams are littered with the screams of lost words. The horror, the horror!

I really only write in my mind. But I have always envied someone as inspired to express like Riverwriter is.

I guess I am mostly at a loss of words - or just plain lazy :smt102

Perhaps you think you know what you "should" write. Perfectionism. Forget about that. Just write. You may have to trick your ego. Come at writing from another angle.

Find a poem. One of mine, if you want. White out all the nouns and verbs, and refill it with your own. Or take all the words from a poem and reorder them. Cut some words out of a magazine or newspaper or book and throw 'em in a hat. Pick 4 or 6 or 10 and make a poem that includes those words. Write a poem about spit. Write a poem about ugly Americans. Write. Or just pull my finger.

laughing and listening to music, eating and living with nature, sharing and loving, fighting and winning, working and learning, suffering for advanced wisdom, slowing down and finding silence, poetry, photography, faith and patience, fearlessness and travel, contentness, discontent, content, confusion, enlightenment, art, life, this way...

I very much like "trick your ego". That is so right to the core of the matter.

Another way of looking at that is some advice I got years ago: "In revision, almost always cut what you like best-- it's probably awful."

That was primo, both of you, on point. I will remember.

I'm still wondering when my brilliant friend Ravi is going to be inspired enough to express 8) ;) or when inspiration is no longer needed :smt117 :smt043

Freestyle, Spoken

What we have transcends all the bonds of this earth.
Transform we can, do you stop you. A life begins, now.
Be alive, alive, live, live, be Alive, live, live.
Stop Staring at the screen and moving between windows.
Stop stopping and keep moving, dancing in the way you live your life.
"Dance in the way you live your life." "Dynamically graceful.:
Go the write way, a dying man begs his twin children, weeps
Storm Composure, write. Legend it, we owe it, we owe it.
(Break the rules because you did it that good. sidetracked)
You, yeah you, the one reading this - - - let go of all your weight
Stand up lean back and let go without land, in the unknown pillow
you are poetry
