Re: Therapy Poetry

This is the day.
Now is the time.
These are the words.
Some of them rhyme.

This is the space.
Here is the spot.
This is the poem.
It's all I've got.

Re: Toil and succour

I have no chips. I have no cracks.
I have no front. I have no back.
I have no ears. I have no eyes.
This form you see is my disguise.
I'm the center of much dispute.
I can't tell you, because I'm mute.

Shall we gather?

Re: Toil and succour

We camouflage boiled eggs
and hide them in the yard.
Buy borrowed sentiments
hidden in novelty cards.
We hide our dried out bread
inside a big, dead bird.
Holiday traditions
are more than just absurd.

Today's pain lies in the digging,
the dirt hard-packed like rock.
There's a poem in there somewhere.

Re: Toil and succour

The Last Rain In his barrel, the poet had collected every drop. He spent his days, and too many long nights, moving the water from vessel to vessel, from bucket to pots, from pans to kettle, from ladle to glass, to mugs, urns, and jars. Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, he moved water,...

Re: Toil and succour

I'd like to growl. I'd like to spit.
I'd like to throw a hissy fit.
I'd like to scream, and then perchance
I'll twist myself into a dance.

Re: Toil and succour

What is the trouble with tribbles?

They're born
pregnant.
No choice,
but to multiply
and thereby
divide and conquer.
Imagine that.

Re: Quote of the Day

I need to go back and reread the frist one --I think I missed the concept completely. What does it mean, exaclty, "work on language'. If I recall from the article at all, it would be that the poetry is in how the words are manipulated, rather than the message or topic of the poem. Close? Yes. ...

Re: Toil and succour

You'd think by now I'd have a clue, do everything I'm meant to do, always know which way to go, which face to hide, which face to show. It's too late now; I can't go back. Step after step, I'll stay on track. Infinity, a figure eight laid on its side. I'm always late. The question: Where's the finis...

Re: Titles: Game Prompt

A Stone's Throw Shattered window's shards of glass take shape, sparkle in the grass: the number eight. It's not what you think. Imperfect, this system of signs. Faceless eyes look up. Pay no attention to the criticism of men. The rules have changed. I want to believe in empathy. The world isn't sini...

Re: Quote of the Day

I spend most of my time these days not writing, wandering the web, wondering, observing. Perhaps you've noticed. Perhaps not. Anyway, this morning I came across more grist for the mill concerning poetry and poets' "work on language." The blog owner has shared numerous poems which to my min...
