Re: Literary Terms

All delightful links, very useful and handy. BUT, as I might have explained earlier, what I had in mind was a little tougher and required more effort - and that was to sift through this vast sien of info and pick exactly one could use here....apply it, so to say. For example we could start a new pos...

Re: Toil and succour

What do you believe in.... I could lucidly cozen: "Strong Son of God immortal love Who we that have not seen thy face By faith and faith alone embrace Believing where we cannot prove." But that is not my zen; I believe there is great wisdom in anal-haq and that ahm-brahma-asmi uttered mor...

Re: Toil and succour

The stoic Aurelius meditates: 'Nothing happens to anyone here that he's not fitted by Nature to bear'; Paul in The End ratiocinates, 'and in the end the love you take is always equal to the love you make'. In affairs of life, small or great it matters more how much you give from birth to when you ce...

Re: Toil and succour

In leaps - and creepy slime -
a croak of hide and seek,
eschews a better time,
come cook a ring-a-reek.

Catch a slithery tove going riddit
I would, but would I have to kiss it?

"Would I have to kiss it?"

Re: Toil and succour

I can say this with gay abandon,
add my two-bit to Percy's ditty,
"Hell is a city much like London—
A populous and a smoky city."

Are you going to London town?

Can you live on gin?
Perhaps not, but I would
- if I could - very gladly,

I can live in sin.

Re: Toil and succour

Where will you go now?
When there is just one mission left,
the last before you reach 'Home',
Eo Romam iterum crucifigi,
but the question then was Quo Vadis?
And all roads led to Rome.

Re: Toil and succour

Who cares, really,
whether ' 'tis nobler in mind
to face the slings and arrows of
outrageous fortune'?
Be zero, be zed,
a hero well-bred;
the question of greater
pertinence, dear one
is whether he is
any good in bed?!

The question is - are you good in bed?

Re: Toil and succour

A me'nage-a'-trois takes three,
of another there is this paucity,
futile to ask thus who else,
one loves besides oneself,
for, I do not even love Me you see.

The Q on my mind essaying
is, 'why is no one else playing?'

Re: Toil and succour

Star-cliched firmament alight
with a gibbous moon queries the
chthonic creatures of night;

carved countenace that some deify,
yet, who put this pie in the sky?

The question is who will be king?

Re: Glossary of Poetic Terms

I had taken the liberty of looking this one up. Riverwriter had sent me another brilliant link, but like I explained to him too -I have something else in mind. And yes, it will be cherry-picked and pasted here, whenever it gets done.

I am game for some toil and succour

I was thinking maybe: (1) The 33 word poem (2) The Pyramid - tag , Mod stop Or (3) the good old riddle-me-rhyme, which we have done before. The Pyramid works like this - the first person to start, starts with a word ( one word one line ) and tags the next person, who has to add to the first one-word...
